Our first meeting for the new year will be held at Richard van Wyhe's shop in the City of Shasta Lake at 10 am on Saturday, 8 January 2011.

Richard is our Chico Chapter, Vice President and he does electric vehicle conversions. He has invited us up to his shop to see the projects that he is working on. The focus of our meetings in 2010 was on the technical details and information needed to do an electrical vehicle conversion. In 2011, our focus will shift to the practical "bolts and nuts" construction of an actual vehicle. Since Richard is farther along on his projects than I am with my Chevy LUV conversion, we thought it would be good to visit his shop.

Meeting location details: Time: 10 am Address: 3400 Shasta Gateway Drive, Shasta Lake, CA 96019. Driving instructions from Chico: I-5 north to Pine Grove Ave. exit (just north of Redding). Go west about 2 miles. Left on Ashby Ave. Left on Shasta Gateway Drive. 1st driveway on the right. Phone number (in case you get lost): 530-275-6800. For those of you who would like to car-pool, please meet at my shop, 27 Rose Ave., Chico at 8:15 am and we will leave promptly at 8:30 am for Shasta Lake. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Sincerely, Jerry Brandstatt, President Chico Chapter, Electric Auto Association
