My name is David Reese, and I'm co-founder and president of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's new Future Fuels Club, a project-based group dedicated to educating others about alternative fuels and their benefits by showing them in true action. We're pretty proud of the club, but we're just barely getting started right now, needing to get our name around campus by showing what we're about, and we have a great opportunity coming up for it next month by participating in what the College of Engineering here is calling e-Week, or Engineer's Week.

We, as the Future Fuels Club are planning an event during the week to give us the attention we need: an on-campus alternative fuels exposition, which leads up to why I'm contacting you right now in the first place. I've come to understand that you and your club enjoy coming to events like this; I'm sure you love as much as we do to show off your work and your environmentally-friendly vehicle. So, I would like to extend an invitation to you and the Central Coast Electric Auto Association to come out and do exactly that: showcase your car or cars and mingle with Cal Poly students and faculty, all to help us out as a club. By making this event event bigger, we will be able to generate a lot more attention from all over campus, helping us as an on-campus club, as well as helping you by creating a better chance of promoting your organization.

I must apologize now, for I am pushing time, as well as perhaps inconveniencing you, for the event is going to be held on Friday, February 22 at 2:00pm at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It is only a little more than a month away, and I realize that that could make logistics an issue, which means that your interest now is even more appreciated. But, I do feel that the Central Coast Electric Auto Association's participation in this event will be incredibly fortuitous for both of us. Please feel free to contact me soon if I have spurred that interest, and I can provide any details you may need. I'm excited to hear from you soon, as your participation may be exactly what we need to make this event a huge success.

With many kind regards,

David J. Reese
